We're launching a preliminary beta of a new version of the software, 4.1.1, developed over the last few months, which introduces major security upgrades to Portfolio's Apache and Java stack components, as well as some new flexibility in deployment.
The Apache Tomcat version used in the implementation has been upgraded from 9.0.58 to 9.0.115, which includes all current security measures.
The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) used in the implementation has been upgraded from Oracle JRE 1.8.0_151 to Open Azule JRE 1.8.0_481.
Support for Windows 10 and 11 Desktop as an entry-level server solution for smaller sites. These sites, and beta testers needing a sandbox system, may now now be able to deploy Portfolio Server on commodity desktop hardware, which should bring the total solution cost down considerably.
Electron desktop applications tested on current MacOS and Windows OS’s; browser UI tested on current Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge versions.
We are actively looking for input and feedback for development of future releases, and expect to provide at least two releases over the remainder of 2026, as well as add-on functionality in modular form which we also plan to offer. Please contact us with your suggestions for improvements in the product; we would be happy to set up a call to discuss your experiences with previous versions and ongoing needs.
